For practicing artists seeking the space to experiment, engage with process and material, find creative ground, and come away with a body of original artwork directly inspired by a sense of place. The retreat connects participants to the landscape of northern New Mexico, with outings to stunning geological locations, natural materials tutorials, readings, and individual conversation. This immersive retreat is guided by experimentation, quietude and discovery, with all the senses in play.

Designed for artists, educators and scholars who engage with drawing (as) research, this workshop blends dedicated time for individual project development with field outings, material-driven drawing experiments, and conversation about images, processes and ideas. This is time to develop or deepen an individual drawing project, connect with new colleagues, and expand the material and conceptual scope of any drawing practice. The workshop balances group dialogue with quiet and reflection.
